I heard that people are selling their accounts for up to 1000 USD to other publishers. But you still have to be a US citizen to be able to use it.

I just went through the sign up steps. I have a feeling they are goign to be pretty picky about things. They DO ask the purpose of your site so it could be that they try to cram you into the expensive business services. I haven't received any approval or rejection yet, but if they reject then I aim going to change the url I submit to one of my other pages, like the forun or the blog, and then try again! :D

They see that your site is failry big and has lots of traffic before they approve your account , its not like adsense that you can sing up even with a blog
