I rent one, but I am assuming that is what you meant. I use mine purely for my own websites (and one friends). Some of my sites are fairly high traffic and are growing daily, so it is pretty unrealistic to be using anything less than my own server.
My husband and I lease a server with a partner which we use to offer hosting on. We just had a server issue that we just got resolved a few days ago. Somehow, according to our partner, an account was hacked and ran the server CPU resources sky high which caused many errors. Luckily, we had tech support which assisted in the problem to help get it resolved so everything worked again.
Yep, I lease the server and as Sarahlee said, it was pretty hard, but luckily our tech support found the problem and resolved it with no questions asked
I have 2 servers in my bedroom, 1 I use as data storage the other I use as testing to test all my scripts I make and for I can easily work with all these other scripts out there such as vBulletin and wordpress. I also have 2 game servers which I lease (Counter Strike Source), and I lease a web server which I use to host clients.
