Hi guys,

I am curious to know what the largest hosting company is in the world. Does anyone have any information about this?

I think its Theplanet.com , i just see that they deal in huge numbers , but still dont know the exact figure .

I believe either it is Godaddy or bravenet. I dont think they are bigger but actually i think godaddy is bigger than bravenet.

Godadday or bravenet may be bigger in retail selling but The planet .com is bigger in bulk selling

webhosting.info is the worlds biggest online hosting statistics organization. If you look at their data all of the companies Go daddy owns combined dwarfs any other company. Check out their wikipedia too it claims they are the biggest and then check out the sources at the bottom to find their numbers.

Ok , that mean godaddy is the biggest but cant they manipulate that listing , i mean godaddy is a big company so they may even pay to get that position

Its not the biggest hosting company in the world,

but dreamhost.com is massive in size and caters to a large number of designers and freelancers.

i think in the design and hosting community it is definitely one of the elite due to customer service, expandability and sheer volume and size.

im pretty sure godaddy really is the largest and that there not paying to have the listing manipulated, thats only somthing microsoft does. Anyways the reason im sure they are the biggest is becouse of there advertising, ( there advertisement during the superbowl) every one knows wich one im talking about and every one knows who goddady is becouse of that one commercial, they will never have to advertise again....

agreed, you can't do anything but tell that they are the largest because they reach a wider audience when it comes to their advertising. You don't really see other hosting companies with there own personal commercial.Thats when you know that a business is doing it bigger than others.

yeah but at the same time it started out as a registration service and the hosting was an add on in just the last couple of years if my history is correct.

a stat would be interesting for this. I wasn't able to find any in a little searching maybe somebody else can.
