Alright, well I am what people call a "Host Hopper" I change hosts frequently as almost every host out now over sells or is a complete scam.
What is over selling you ask? well overselling is when you sell more space then you actually have for example hosts saying they are offer you "UNLIMITED DISKSPACE" "UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH" those a lies, unlimited does not exist no matter what. when you host with somebody that says this your site will likely go down as people are using lots of disk space and bandwidth which the host you are with does NOT have. some hosts try to cover up overselling and provide only about 25GB for $5 that is still overselling if you think about it every 25GB should cost about $35+. Some of you may think that is alot and yes it is, but the question is can you really put a price on a host that will not go down and not disappear and leave you stranded?
Scam Hosts - many little kids that are about 13 or even some adults want to strike it rich on the internet and come up with this idea "im going to make a web host" and they think of that in less then 30 minutes and they get on the computer and make the website and start having people come buy hosting from them, well that will not work this is generally called an "Over Night Host" its up one day and down the next. Why does this happen? well it is because to even start a web host you need about at least $500 to spend before you open your webhost then more money the following months until you have enough clients that the servers pay for themselves, to notice when somebody is an "Overnight Host" you generally need to look at the plans they offer, the look of the website, and the contact information. Most business offer some kind of an address some do not, I generally try to stay away from those that don't have an address as they usually are, however I know a few that aren't but I am not trying to get you to buy hosting I am trying to make you aware of these scam hosts.
When a host is an "Over Night Host" the plans usually include like 50GB disk space for about $5 or something like that, the content is very pore and it reads like a 5th grader wrote it. The design is usually a cheap free design that they got off a website that they found from searching google and the email is usually
MYWEBHOST@gmail.com or
MYWEBHOST@yahoo.com or other free email providers.
