It definitely fits well in the web 2.0 world. I would insert images to break up the text. So much text on text wears on the eyes. Your right nav feels unnaturally wide. I'd split it.

Who is hosting your website right now? Is your site capable of being manipulated to the point where you can change the background setup instead of it just being completely white? I am looking to do something like a blog but I want to be able to actually change my look.

i think dor info domains are free of cost. but anyway, ur domain name is great. "CASHCOOK", sounds better. but hey, do u sell those books..?? i think u get paid for that. but anyways thats good concept for blog and even for domain name too.
