Default My husband's website

My husband has a website that we've been tinkering with. Would you please let me know what you think? Here's the URL: Wayfaring Flutes.

TIA for the comments and suggestions.

be patient I am flicking back and forth offering you some tips.

1 Your first jpg is too large for dialup. If you want the size put it in the table background it will load cleaner. I would cut it down a third anyway.

On your menu be creative. nest it a table with three rows two columns each. The left column in each row put the text click here and make each background a different color. the right column will be no background with the description.

Creating cells for your text so that you are next in a long landscape but a balanced columned cell. It has a better read to it. Also the text about the bird should be alongside, above or below the picture.

You need to balance and sturcture texts and pics. the paypal button should be below everything.

I am giving you this information based on the fact you are using tables and not css.

Also you sound quality is not doing your product justice. If you are recording straight into a mic you need a windscreen. You can create one with a cheap stocking over a wire hoop.

I hope I have helped you and good luck.

It is a clear enough site but could be made more easy to navigate and attractive. The main thing I thought was missing was information but how the flutes were made and by whom.

I am going to comment on the design over other aspects of the site as I feel they have been well covered above.

I am not a flute player so please bear with me if i say somethign that actually does have a prupose to be there. The green interwoven effect on the side really messes the entire page up for me, if you have it on both sides, I think it will look better.
The font (Time new Roman) Is possibly the most disgusting font I have ever seen, a site with a white background and times new roman font I shut the window on, call me a sufferer of OCD but i dont like those sorts, so heres how you can improve:

> Ditto the pattern ( if you chose to keep it)
> Choose a new font (Trebuchet MS, Tahoma, Verdana? all more attractive)
> Have a simple piece of CSS bordering the images to give it a structure.
> Maybe use a CSS container to keep the text in and then directly next to it have the images, maybe using a nice javascript effect to make them larger...
such as Lightbox 2
and then leave a preview image on the pafge (same size for all please - it looks silly having unordered images.

There are a few basic elements you should work on.

it was hard for me to see the contact tom. you may want to put this in the footer. it took a long time to hear the flutes when i clicked the listen icon. good luck, some of those flutes look really cool. did your husband make any of these flutes?

Let's see....
don't worry about the font, it's legible and most people don't know what font it is unless they are designers. It looks like the site is fairly new so take your time making any changes.

Who will be your main audience? Those looking for you particular product will tolerate things that those who are looking for business items will not, so you can add things that you woudln't find on a "standardized" site.

Have you looked at some of the pagan and new age sites? You might set up a few link exchanges with those but also look at how they are laid out. The successful ones gear the appearance toward a community that likes patterns and colors that have meanings that others might not appreciate.

The site is a good start. My new site is pretty bare right now so I understand taking small steps while keeping your eye on long term goals.

The concept of the site is going pretty well but there are a lot of things that you need to do which resize your pictures of course. Your layout could be different. but I guess it all depends of wht you are trying to do.

i saw the website, its simple.....make it professional, that will boost ur husband's business. i bet on this.

only the thing i would like to say is, lack of professional webtemplate. YOU can get/use the free templates given in lots of websites, just surf the google.

good luck. the flutes are wow, and the 1st flute was quite attractive.
