Default Black Market Beauty

Well, here are the bare bones of my site so far I am stuck for ideas on banners logos though. I can't draw an image that goes with my feelings when I say "Black Martket Beauty"..maybe a woman in one of those poses with "pssst...I got watcha want"...lol...Trench coat with lipsticks and compacts on the inside? I am still picking through some typos and rephrasing things. I would appreciate any feedback and ideas! :p !

The name is good and catchy and makes you want to know more, but you're right about the banner. Needs to be maybe more mysterious. Aren't websites fun?

The name does peak the interest, but the site is a little plain. Too much reading and not enough pictures.

I sort of assumed a lot of photos would be added, but if not, then trick is right. You will need more to support the copy points.

You don't really want it to be junk because it is a forum when it all boils down to it. Give it a little more spice but not too much.

SageMother, if that IS your picture, NO I wouldn't have thought you were 51 years old! So, obviously whatever it is you're doing and using, it's working.

Are you actually going to have specific products to sell, or are you going to give people the opportunity to make their own products?

I agree about the need for photos or graphics of some kind. And about the banner. Maybe something with a "New Orleans" feel to it?

The font is bad. Make it smaller, and use something that is more comfortable on the eyes. It looks really tacky and messy.

agreed on font.

too many going on.
make them consistent and quite a bit smaller.
you probably want something the size of the font on this page.
most browsers have the ability to go bigger or smaller on the text size so if you worried about a special category of readers not being able to read your site, they probably already have their system adjusted for a 'standard' web font size.

also, comic sans is a big no no nowadays

i do like how the forum colors kind of match the header,
always a nice thing to have some consistency from header to bottom of the page,

good start.

When I read "Black Market Beauty", I thought of a black rose. That might help.
You should use CSS headers.
Code:
<h1></h1>
<h2></h2>
and all that.
Also, I think you should disable the disable right-click. People might right click by accident. ;)

I totally agree. I black rose would be nice. And maybe some sexy eyes. Your eyes are beautiful. Perhaps you could get someone to draw just your eyes and include them in the banner somehow.
