ok,
damn, got to think about this one again.
so you fill the 5gallon jug to the top and dump it into the 3gallon jug; leaving 2gallons in the 5gallon jug. you throw away the water in the 3gallon jug and poor the remaining 2gallons of water left in the 5gallon jug into the 3gallon jug. then you fill the 5gallon jug to the top again and then pore out 1gallon of water in the 3gallon jug. leaving you with 4gallons in the 5gallon jug.
