am starting my own business and wanted to know should i use templates or create my own, and should you use someone like yahoo to host your site and if i elect to use yahoo would it strictly be my domainname.com or some drawn out url to find me. Should I download free templates from othe's site to build a site.

coming from a webmaster, web designer, web coder point of view i recommend you get your own unique design. It shows that you are serious about the site and can attract users, where free designs that make people not want to come, but this can be costly because you have to make the design or hire somebody, then code it or hire somebody to code it which can be costly. and for hosting i recommend hostedfx.com this is who i use and i am very pleased with there service.

i agree with randy. templates are nice and sometime a little cheaper; depending on a couple different things. but if you want to get your site up to the top of the search engines, custom sites are the way to go, to be safe. a lot of templates you can't change some of the things on it or it would cost you money to change them anyway.
