If you have a page that's database driven but are dealing with content that is only updated once a day or week or even less consider modifying your system to "publish" your web page instead of displaying it dynamically from the database. Set it to publish your site on a regular schedule or on demand when updates are made. Then depending how you've written the software or how features work with other software you're using, you should end up with static html pages which will load much faster than a database driven site.
If you're still slow after addressing dreamzgaurav's suggestions and that, it's time to look for a new web host.
