Default Microsoft Front Page

Hey guys, I took a website design class and we used a program called Microsoft Front Page, there alot of fun things you can do with this program and you should all check it out. It's a bit expensive but not to bad.

"FrontPage 2003 provides the features, flexibility, and functionality to help you build better Web sites. It includes the professional design, authoring, data, and publishing tools needed to create dynamic and sophisticated Web sites."

Good luck and the program is great! Very usefull and fun.

Gosh, this thread sounds like a big load of spam...

but just to get it going...

Frontpage = the devil.

The code is bloated, useless and ugly. Really, no WYSIWYG editor is going to give you great code, but the fact some hosts have to turn on special frontpage plugins for your site to work is a testament to the un-usability factor there.

Anger_danger, I also was taught it in high school and for some reason they use this because everyone is familiar with microsoft products. Stay away and try something else.

I would also recommend that you not use front page. When I learned html about 10 years ago, I taught myself first and then bought the first version of front page when it came available. I used it to learn how to make tables bc I did not understand that code.

But I quickly learned that front page added code that was not required and it basically ruined any code containing affiliate IDs. I ended up doing more manual work editing the code it created.

Somebody burst his bubble and tell him MFP is history. Microsoft retired the program as it lost the war to Dreamweaver. It has been reborn as Expressions.

Unfortunatelly I do not think much of Frontpage. I've heard its new replacement in the new office 2007 is a lot better, but I cannot say more about it because I haven't tried it.

What I recomend instead of Frontpage, that in my oppinion has a lot of issues, is Macromedia Dreamweaver. It is far more advanced and reliable.
One thing I have at Frontpage is those 1 kb files it creates that are just duplicates of the pictures used on the site. I don't get that.

besides that it also add lots of junk codes to every single html file it creats , its easy to remove it but if you have 1000s of file then it gets hectic

I still preferred Frontpage over Dreamweaver as it was much easier to create websites IMHO. The new version is a lot more complicated to use.
