Actually that is a practice still being done by many writers. They even teach this in courses. You can never have enough backup.

I will still mail myself something if there's no other way but for scripts it is so easy to register them with the writers guild that I'd rather pay and have it official.

Thats the impression that I'm getting as well. Well at least you don't have to do anything extra. I wonder how you can avoid someone taking your site though. That in itself is unnerving.

Ive had my site stolen before and it was horrible to see all of the work that I had done taken by someone else. I couldn't understand what had happened and how they did it but like you said, there is a software that can scan everything all the way up to your files.

well, about copyright on website, its u urself that makes. no one gives u the copyright tag. its the label that u make to know people that its urs.
