Default adword boosting SEO?

Hi,

I have recently noticed that after I created a new adgroup on Google adwords, the landing page was updated in SERP almost straight away.

I then tested it with a couple of other landing pages which had not been visited by Google for ages, and they got updated in the SERP within a couple of days!

It looks like adding a link into adwords ensure that their spider goes and visit the page, and update its content in the SERP.

I have done some research about this since, and could not find any information about it.

Am I on something, or is it some kind of common knowledge?

I use the Google keyword tool to extract keywords. And this is the best possible option one could have specially if optimizing for Google, the reason being the keywords that are provided are directly from Google's database. Keywords that are high in search and less in competition should be preferred.Optimizing properly for these keywords puts in a greater chance to improve your SERP.

That’s cool. But what I was really getting at is that when I launch an adwords campaign, it looks lile the target page is being visited by Google and re-indexing it almost straight away. If I’m right then this could be a fantastic way to ensure that site updates are indexed quickly! Is this just coincidence or has anyone else seen this?

Nothing special about it. After all Google wants to have all the pages people may be interested in their index, so people can find them... When people visit your page from AdWords they may want to visit it once more so Google indexes it yto deliver it to the people when they search for it.

But my point really is that you can make tons of changes to a website and it may be ages before it gets spidered again, and there’s no way of forcing Google to look at your site again until it feels that it wants to.

If anyone else has the same findings as me, then it suggests that you can force / encourage Google to visit and re-index your site just by starting an adwords campaign (that you can stop later).

So does this imply that google gives special preferance or bonus to sites that uses their service? I highly doubt that but would have second thoughts if there could be some hard proof...
