Default Domain name

Does having an appropriate tag in your domain name help your placement or does it create problems?

It will definitely help if you have suitable keywords in your domain name. It will help a lot with ranking well in the SERPS.

you have to be careful with some keywords in your domain. i know for real estate, you can't have the word "realtor" in it. if found out, they'll make you take it down. so be careful.

i've heard about that freelancerstore. it sucks that you might have a domain up for a while and people are starting to remember the url and then forced to change your url that you have been working so hard to create.

It definately helps you get listed on search engines. Make sure you pick keywords that your visitors will use to search your website.

You are right Mesoc. I have had keyword rich domains with only one page of content published and when I searched Google for the keywords in question I was ranked on the first page.

How do you find out if one of the words in your domain violates this sort of rule?
