Hi friends,
I finished my new website a week ago and I'm working really hard on backlinks for the last 4 days! (about 70-100 links per day)

A friend told me I should be carefull because people who get many backlinks too fast could be considered a spammer by google and get banned!

I'm NOT paying for any links, I am just placing them one by one by hand in every directory and websites related to my website.

Should I slow down or this is not true? How many backlinks per day is safe?

You don't have to get so many backlinks, try to get quality inbound links. 1 quality inbound link is of much more value then even 1,000 backlinks FFA.

I agree! Quality is better than quantity. It deals with relevancy. In order to get quality of back links, engaging on the following helps:

There should be natural scent when building backlinks.
-Not to do very slow.
-Not to do very fast.
-Use variety of methods.
-Not to practice black-hat

As long as you vary the back link text then this shouldn't be an issue but I agree with the others go for quality themed links.

Yes you are going very fast and your friend is giving right suggestion. Google or any other search engines will block the site if you work vigorously on building backlinks for new site because search engine will consider the site for making backlinks only, but not for the viewers.
