Default Classifieds

We all get so wrapped up in search enging optimization that we forget about other methods of getting traffic. I have used Craigs List, Back Page, and a few other places that offer free listings. YOu never know who might be browsing and com eacross your link.

I know I know! Still pays to put the ads up and hope that someone sees them before they're flagged!

That sure sounds like spamming to be. I am not a big fan of spamming as it ruins the surfing experience of web users.

Craigslist isn't spamming. It is a place where you can list classifieds for free. How are you getting bumped off by other members?

I think that if you keep publishing your ad over and over then you could call it spamming. Or am I wrong in this case?

I didn't see anything here that indicated anyone was doing rapid fire posting. I interpreted the statement about posting ads again as it being done at regular intervals, not flooding the classifieds with multiples of the same ad.

If you reword the same concept it is not the same ad. You cannot post multiples of the SAME ad but you CAN post multiple ads. Just no copy and pastes over and over again.

Craigslist isn't really intended for website promotion, it's intended for local classifieds. Unless your page has local interest, it's not appropriate.

Freelance web and writring jobs can be found on Craig's. I think the fact that they have such a wide variety of international classifieds, and their being online, makes it equally worthwhile for advertising that addresses online markets.

I've put website links up on Craigslist before and most stayed because I tried to place them in categories where they were relevant. Every once in a while someone will flag it, but I think it's a competitor lol. I don't spam forums ever!
