They do work, but as we all know, an absentee owner makes the forum pretty worthless. Gotta have a good moderator!

i thought about creating a forum within one of my sites, but decided against it. i have my own seo reasons for doing so and hope it works. if so, i hope to retire very soon.

Wouldn't there be a moderator if it is a forum within a site? Maybe I don't understand....

Same hosting plan same place. I think that would be more than a good idea. I don't see why you wouldn't want to do that. Plus it gives more option to your website vistors, more activity, more things to do.

Many larger sites use this approach and it does work. Its a good way of getting traffic to your forums as it has loads of content and then having links on your forums pages that link to important parts of your site that you want your visitors to see.
