you can always try Freelancer Store - Pay Less for More!
it'll be up in about 1 1/2 months.

Well I always got all my projects from: Freelance Projects & Jobs. Freelance Programmers, Web Designers & Writers. Contract Work. I think this is best site for me where I can found lots of jobs.

What are good places to look for magazine/web-content writing?

Would you happen to know anybody looking for creative writing? Serial short stories, perhaps? *hopes, perhaps futilely*

There are plenty of sites that will pay for content. Not a lot of pay but something like associatedcontent.com ...then there are bidding sites like writerlance.com which is free with no membership. From there, you start paying a membership fee for jobs that pay a little more. It really is better to just search some of the writer sites following leads to magazines and what they want.

Insofar as serial fiction, I've not seen people who need it. That's really blog stuff.

I look to see the quality of freelance artists on there. If they are all sloppy and unprofessional I leave. People who aren't doing it for a living simply lower the price and make others think they can pay me what they would pay a 12 year old to build a webpage and that's not going to happen. I look for a site with a professional stature.

The site says "coming soon". I am so disappointed. I am a little concerned when I see the "pay less for more". It feels like the freelancers are being set up for starvation wages.

I have tried this one before. There was just too much competition, and everyone trying to underbid the other person for the job. If you actually get the job, you would almost have to work for free.
