i think its about 5 years that i have been online almost 8 - 12 hours a day. but i never thought of getting online and chat. actually, i used to get online but my never moved towards chatting and making new friends after chatting. but ofcourse i always loved posting message and made quite good friends through forums. what are ur interests..?? about being online and doing stuffs..??

I've enjoyed getting to know some chatters in the past, but I don't really spend much time with that now.

I've also connected with friends that I'd been out of touch with using ICQ, but I don't currently have it on my computers.

Lately, I really like to check things out on Google Earth.

i never tried of having ICQ, but yes...earthing GOOGLE is quite interesting thing. i have mapped my home.

Chatting is alright for the most part but I find that I make better and more lasting friendships through forums. Nothing ever goes anywhere when I talk in a chat room plus the conversations are always pointless.

even i feel the same, while c hatting, i never give my real informations and even we cant get so much attached to chat frens,,,,but from forum....i do cherish good friendship with them.

Yes me as well, you learn so many things and then it's not so much of a quick conversation, everything in a forum works over time just like a friendship does.

well, beside making friendship...in forum. we can do lot in forum rather than in chatting. in chatting we discuss useless topics..most. but in forum, direct to the point.

That is very true thats why I enjoy forums a whole lot more. I like the intellectual conversations and the personal debates that we have with other people.

I started my "online" life as a chatter about 9 years ago. I have made friends that I still keep in touch with till now. While I enjoyed chatting then... chatting now leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Why cant one say... Hi. How are you? Where you from? instead of just the plain A/S/L sans the hello?

I agree with xeric. We can make friends in forums...as I have already.... and these people are people who have allowed me to pick their brains as they have picked mine.

The only people that I chat with via IM are my family and friends that I know personally and not thru forums and such. I post on numerous forums for enjoyment and as a way to find out more information on topics that I'm interested in.
