Default Your favorite artis?

I am a big fan of Salvador Dalí (Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dalí y Domenech ), the famous surrealist-turned-catholic painter. Some of his paintings are just phenomenal. I was lucky enough to go to one of his permanent expos in Paris - breathtaking.

Great thread, juni. I like Salvador Dalí also, but my all-time favorite artist is Andrew Wyeth. I have several of his prints - I can just feel him in them, yanno?

Not really an artsy person myself but I do admire Ansel Adams photography. I recently saw an exhibit of mummies on loan from Egypt and they were art- sort of. Actually creeped me out, if truth were to be told.

Not into a favorite artist but I will always have a favorite art piece which is the Mona Lisa. The representation of a woman lies in that piece of art. I love the simplicity of it.

I will say I do appreciate the masters like da'Vinci, etc. My son is the artist in the family and he loves all things anime! LOL

Well your son is a true artist. I use to want to draw but you know how you grow out of things as you get older and realize that certain things aren't for you. Well I think that is what happened to me,lol.

I'm not much into arts, but do like looking through galleries from time to time.
I'd say that Van Gogh and Van Dyk are among my favorite artists.
Dali has good pieces of art too, but beside those he has allot of stuff which is just plain Bull Shit to make more money.

I like Dali, too. We went to the Salvador Dali museum in Florida and bought a couple of prints.

In another more simple vein, I like Roger Dean's artwork on the early Yes album covers.
