Default Creating Ebooks

I have written material that I wish to be made into an ebook. Does anyone know how to create ebooks in .pdf format and to make them secure so no one can share them?

Is there software to do this or instructions? What is the best way or best software to use for this?

Thanks for the help!

I ran a google search and found this which seems nice and pretty reasonable.

I found this one, its license is a little more expensive but there seems to be a free version.

Hope this helps.

I have created a lot of PDF files. There are a few softwares which help you create one.
But what I prefer is doing it with your Office Suite. Yes!
Write your content in a doc file and just "Export as .pdf". You are done.
One more way is to use Google Docs and export the file as .pdf.

I hope this worked.

I use OpenOffice.:D

How did you go about the "stopping people sharing" part?

I cannot think of a way to protect a pdf. Once someone has access to the file to read the content they can more or less do as they please. You can copyrite the material to make it illegal but that doesn't bother half as many people as it should.

Well pdfs are somewhat protected. So they won't mess around very often.
Will search for a few protection and let you know.

What sort of protection do PDF's offer?
Is it just that they are usually un-editable?

If you want to create ebook in pdf format, to secure it, you can just put a password if someone trying to view it. I use Adobe Acrobat Professional to secure my ebooks.

If you want to make it even secure, use ebookpro.com software. It is server side authentication. Someone need to verify it thru net if want to open it at the first time. The output will be in exe file. One of my friend using it and its rock.
