Okay, I'm not exactly sure what these images are called, but in Opera, on most websites, there is a little image (usually the logo of the website), up to the left of the address bar.

Is anyone able to explain how to get images there?

Its a Favicon. to add Favicon on your website you need to create a transparent icon (.png, .gif or.ico).

Then on your xhtml the code for the head should looks like these.

<head profile="http://www.w3.org/2005/10/profile">
<link rel="icon"
type="image/png"
href="/somewhere/myicon.png" />
[…]
</head>

Oh, you can call it Website Icon which lie in the left of the address bar, also you can call it Favorites Icon.
You can get it from my blog(åˆ¶ä½œæµè§ˆå™¨åœ°å€æ*&æ”¶è—å¤¹é‡Œçš„å°å›¾æ*‡ - å‘¨æµªzhoulang(Eastwave)åšå®¢ä¸»é¡µ - åšå®¢å›*). But it's Chinese, what a pity!
The general idea is that, you need make one Icon and put it into your root directory, and then rename it to favicon.ico, then the browser will display the Icon automatically.
