Rep Power: 25 britjojo is on a distinguished road

Default Ever had a compatability issue that just wouldn't go away?

I have been trying now for four months to get the format of my site to render the same both in IE and Firefox. Always it was right in IE, but Firefox being more W3 tight just would not do what I wanted.

Four months, but I did it! Just a red line, that's all that was missing! Sigh.....

Has this happened to you?

Yes, it has ...with a particular font that I wanted to use because it matched the client's logo. Looked great on IE but not on Firefox and Netscape.

This happens to me all the time on every website I do, usually I can work through it and get it to work but sometimes I just have to scrap it and find a work around, it might not be the best solution but when you have a deadline it's about the only thing you can do.

mtajim you seem rather knowledgeable so perhaps you can tell me-it's been some years since my degree and my brain is forgetting stuff. WHY will IE render something when W3 compliant browsers won't? And why is it that IE will not adhere to the W3 standards?

Birtjojo, IE is a product of Windows which in turn is a product of Microsoft , so theres the answer - Microsoft tries to make itself bigger than W3C , thats way they do so , to keep themselve above from other

Is it still very important to have your code validated by W3C? I've noticed recently that I'm not seeing the validation images as much as I used to, I still think having your code validated is very important though.
