I'm going to raise a fist and say 'huzzah' with the people on the side of WRITE or BUY your own content. I know it's not easy - or cheap - to have good, original content; but for pity's sake...could someone tell me the point of NOT giving credit where it's due?

I guess the logic behind that is to not have to pay a writer who's accustomed to getting paid. Maybe I'm naive about this - but - why wouldn't you just ask permission to reprint the author's work and then give 'em a link? The worst they might say is 'no', and if they do, find a different writer.

Why not do this? Is it in the interest of time or trouble or what? I don't get it.

Most people want to save money so they go the wrong way , they find copied content more cheap so they use and in long run that hampers there success

Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but no so far ....people who write their own content in an original way are going to fare better in the long run than those who buy boring pieces or copy them. There has to be something that differiniates one site from another and many times it is the writing!

I have a friend that does rewrites for someone. They've taken "so-so" content, added to it, changed it around, and added more keywords. They're getting paid fairly decently, too, I think. I'm guessing having someone else rewrite your not-so-great content is better than copying someone else's?

I think the distinction here is whether you are rewritting content for a site owner for things they've either written themselves or paid to have written or whether you're talking cutting and pasting articles that you find online. Big difference.

I never have a problem as I create all original content for my websites. I think that from all points of view unique content is the way to go.

I've written content for sites and sit here thinking about who on earth possibly reads the stuff other than bots. With the needed keyword density, most of it is awful. I send out invoices, get paid and I still wonder lol.

I so agree with that. The articles end up being written just for search engines not for anyone to ever read them. Who would read and enjoy them? No one. It's one area of the evergrowing world of search engine power that I hate. There's so much wasted space out there taken up by the articles ..because that's the way things work.
