Hi everyone:

I have been working on SEO for a few of our websites over the years and have had great sucess. One of our websites has been on the first page of Google for some very competitive keywords for a long time. For our best keyword we have been in the number 3 spot on Google for many many months. Lately, I have seen it drop to 5 or 6 and then back up to 3 or 4 but it keeops changing. Then, 2 days ago it went to 8, then back to 6, now it is at number 7 spot. I have never seen so much fluctuation ever. It changes daily. Is there something going on with Google that I am not aware of?

This site is number three for allinanchor for this keyword. It should be higher than number 7.

That seems really weird. Never heard this happen before. But Um, Maybe asking them what is going on with the PageRank system?

Maybe a typical Google update. Wait it out until it goes back to normal.

i wouldn't worry about the movement. as long as you are on the first page, that's awsome. when it gets to the second page, i would do something about it.

what is the site and keyterm you are talking about?

Yeah that is weird. But fergi is ight.. Don't worry about the movement as long as you are in the first page result of google

I've seen sites jump from page one on Google to page nine, and then back. No one seems to know why other then they just call it the Google Dance. I don't worry too much about minor fluctuations, it is the big ones that last for weeks that are of concern.

Its called Google dance. You rank is not permanent. It will vary. Your backlinks and competitor backlinks will effect SERP.

Google may be changing the format of its keyword query search engine report pages (SERPs). Separate items may appear where relevant rather than just a group of two from each domain.

Its natural. I can see my ranking changes everyday. It rarely stays in same position. :-??

New sites undergoes quick changes. But establish sites will remains. Sometime Google with change their ALGO. So you will be experience similar situation.
