On the advertiser side, this had to happen. When programs are new everyone is all hyped up, so they will get carried away with their ppc bids. As time goes on, they settle down and figure out that they can come out ahead by bidding way less. It was bound to level off sooner or later.
I bet things go back up in about July when everyone is looking for traffic. Online activity tends to slow down during the warmer months so people tend to advertise more to keep their numbers up.
