Hi, I have a 2 months old website, Google indexed 68 pages in August, and now it shows only 49
Why? What have I done?
Is it because I published some of my articles on ezinearticles, rumorist, del.icio.us?
Any ideas would be appreciated
Google is always reshuffling its deck. How many pages do you actually have? If Google indexes more pages then you have, no worries (e.g., I have one site that has 234 pages but Google indexes around 600 because of the various options for dynamically building the pages). If it is indexing less pages, then I would check to make sure you don't have a robots.txt file restricting it. I'm assuming you are using Webmaster tools? If so, it should tell you everything you need to know. Just typing in index:link into Google will not give you an accurate picture.
Google has funny algorithm and if it finds duplicate content, it just stores the relevant one's in its fold, discarding others. You should focus on creating more content and building back links though .. this would happen and is quite regular so nothing to get alarmed as of now.....
