Default Follow Googles Rules!

Hi!

I've been reading a lot on SEOs and Content to get a good view of how to rank high in google. I came across an e-book that says it is better in the long run to simply follow google's rules than try to outwit it with SEOs. The book emphasizes content development for people and spiders. What's your take on this?

What are the Google rules when it comes to ranking well in the SERPS if I may ask? If you were to follow those rules then you would in fact be search engine optimizing your site for Google so it remains SEO.

The google rule is - Just dont cheat google , they are clever than you . Just stick to basics , dont do to much with your site

Exactly, people think they are being very clever but them end up detected and black listed. There may be a short term benefit to using loop holes and gimmicks but in the end a good webmaster creates a good website that people want to use and search engines want to list. Anything else IMHO is just kidding yourself.

That's what the article pointed out. Google has enough money to hire smart people. I think what the article was referring to is black hat SEO. Is it worth the effort? The article says it's better to fill your site with good and original content than spend time trying to outwit google. But maybe for some, it's more like a game.

Anyway, I think that it is fair to assume that all the money behind Google and all the brain power can easily detect any foul play being done by webmasters.

I have started taking the time to just print out the rules for different advertising places, like Google, and keeping the info in a binder where I can look at it easily. I get tired of looking from window to window on my screen and it keeps my train of thought on track better than having to scroll through the rules!

I think I am getting old.

Good idea! I think I'm gonna do that too. I find it time consuming opening up a page and scrolling through it whenever I want to peruse something. Nothing still beats good old paper.
