Hi all forum members,

Is anyone on this board using the free Google spreadsheets and documents program. I am a bit hesitant giving them access to information stored on them.

Google spread sheets are great for sharing information, but if you are just using it yourself MSexcell is better. --and you can then work on your sheets offline.

That is a good point that you made about working offline with MS. Can you download Google spreadsheets and open them with a different software like MS?

I have used Google Spreadsheet , i think its good but dont put up your confidential data on to it , its too risky

You are right. I wouldn't want the information to fall into the hands of the government or the IRS.

Yes , there has been a history from these internet companies , that they have given some very vital infos about there users to the gorvernment , so be carefull of using these online tools

I'm not concerned about Google sharing info with the IRS (!) but the confidentiality is a concern. I prefer using Open Office, it is also free and local to my PC.

Oh , yes i too use it but i find it hard to operate since many of my file made with open office get corrputed. Is there any other option to it

There are some other open source programs but I doubt that any will be better then open office. You can always download a pirated version if you don't mind going down that road.

Ok , i think i should stick to open office, but its really hard to move from MS office to open office
