If you have a web page the size of 600 is that too small?

I will follow up with what was said before...

I looked for the link to an article I read recently and couldn't place it.

780 was the standard before. (800 pixels wide minus scrollers/sidebars etc...)

now your looking at the 1024x768 screen size as a minimum size, some ridiculoulsy low percentage was on 800x600, and it looks like about 50% is actually above 1024x768. I believe this was a US study.

So, in short, the 900-1000 pixel wide range is safe,
but in not too much time you will be able to expand a little bit more.

sorry randle, didn't see this before my last post.

i would say yes.
my standard screen size is 1600 x 1200,
so your website would be taking up just over 1/3 of the screen.

if you center it, you MAY be o-k. but it sitll would be small.
Then again,
if it is essential to the design go for it. some sites just don't look good stretched out and bloated across the screen.

I have always designed my sites, to expand to the web browsers site as much as possible.
But If I had to lay down a set width and height it would be 800 x 900 or something like that not too sure on the hieght, as that depends on the content and layout of the site.
