I think this guy is a ringer who comes in to be rude and dopey. Contrary to popular belief at leart 40% of all internet connections are still dial up. I can see why that person cracks himself up. He doesn't know better. The stats are open record.

People use Dial up because they dont have any option , you may be living is west and have option to choose between cable or dsl but my dear friends theres is a whole world outside , who dont have any other option of internet beside dial up , forget broadband , there are places where you wonty even find ISDN which is older than cable

Cable and dsl are not everywhere. The new fios may surpass them in accessiability.

I think the key to using Flash, is to use it in moderation, the flash sites really annoy me even with DSL, it still annoys me to see a loading bar. I am fine with a flash banner, nav bar and/or square box with aimations.

But those nice flash sites work quite well.

I find it amusing that there are so many people who think that people use dial up out of choice! That's very funny. There are many places in the world where cable and dsl aren't available and some of them are in very civilized countries in posh areas too. I lived in a house which won't get it for years. Two hours from New York City, but cable would have to be run 6 miles for four houses. They said we shouldn't hold our breath! LOL.

Build thirty houses behind you and cable is there in a flash (excuse the unintended pun)

LOL ...so true. I'll opt for something else! Satellite isn't bad for those situations, but now I'm on high speed cable and quite happy. I do miss the hosue though!

Ok, there might be those people who can't get dsl but there are some who are afraid to upgrade.
