I have a salesperson who's all fired up to sell ads on my site. I'm trying to get her the tools together she needs; and besides design specs, she needs an advertising agreement. Is there any special language I should be SURE to include in this contract? Does anyone have a resource I could visit with an example or template to draw upon?
Between the site and the client. I've got my agreement with her worked out already. I would like to sell banner space by size and block of time; not per-click. So far our advertising prospects are amenable; I just need somethin' for them to sign. We're offering the option to pay per-month or to prepay, for a 10% discount, up to a year's worth of ads in advance.
I dont personally know of any good marketing agreement templates, so you'll have to wing this one, here are some pointers to get you started with:
> Duration?
> Flat Rate? Rate per xxxx's impressions?
> Payment Fee
> Downtime arrangements (any compensation)
> Price Reduction on another ad after.
> Type of site - do you accept adult sites?
Great ideas, Alex, thank you. I didn't even think about downtime arrangements or specifications on adult material - I guess those were too important and obvious for my designer's brain to grasp. Heh.
...particularly the adult content thing. With this particular site, I don't EVEN wanna get started on that path.
